My practice is guided by the philosophy of Force-to-Flow, an interdependent relationship between intentional research and spontaneous creation. Force represents the moments I exert energy to gather resources, study texts, and engage with cultural spaces. Flow emerges when I allow intuition and chance to guide my work—through “loafing and inviting the soul,” casual conversations, or contemplative observation during travel. These experiences are documented in handmade sketchbooks, which become the foundational layer for my paintings, drawings, and textile works.
Through these processes, I explore the interplay of figuration and abstraction, Western concerns of identity and social politics, and Eastern philosophical practices, including Tantric and Buddhist thought. My compositions balance moments of legibility and coherence with improvisational, automatic mark-making, where contouring lines, dimensional layering, and gestural painting reveal the tension between structure and freedom.
Personalized iconography—ranging from street culture to spiritual symbology—serves as a lens to connect internal and external realities. Automatism and symbolism operate together as both method and metaphor, translating subconscious impulses into visual narratives. By integrating sketchbooks, painting, and illustrative work, I create a dialogue between research and intuition, history and immediacy, the individual and the collective.
As a first-generation college graduate of Fine Arts and a successful business owner in my family; my practice is a continuous exploration of self, culture, and creative possibility, seeking to document and expand lived experience through the visual arts.
